Sigma Nu, as a fraternity continually pursues excellence. Likewise, Sigma Nu believes that individual members should pursue this same excellence in every aspect of their lives. Whether on the intramural field, in the classroom, or through campus involvement Sigma Nu members enjoy the pursuit of excellence.

What is the pursuit of excellence? The pursuit of excellence is searching for opportunities that will allow an individual and his brothers to develop in mind, heart and character. Pursuing excellence is not only a goal of the organization, it is also a way for individuals to continually protect, assist, advance and encourage each other.

From the beginning of Sigma Nu in 1869 through the present, Sigma Nu has initiated over 200,000 members, and is now the second largest fraternity in the world. Sigma Nu has over 150,000 living alumni, 9,200 active collegians, and millions of dollars in assets and resources all committed to the betterment of Sigma Nu members throughout the United States and Canada. Sigma Nu truly is an international brotherhood.

The month of April is the Founders’ Month-of-Service to coincide with the April 1 birth date of founder Judge Greenfield Quarles.  Sigma Nu’s Helping Hand Initiative was created to help chapters work with local philanthropies to help benefit the community.  As our continued commitment to this initiative, we will be working with Donate Life of California for a second year in a row.

Last year,  our work with Donate Life made state and national news. The California State Legislature sent us an official document showing us their appreciation.  In addition, our work has featured on our national newsletter, “The Rock“. We look forward to continued to success with Donate Life as we help spread awareness about this great cause.

Our work with Donate Life begins Thursday, April 9th. The event will be at the Becker Amphitheater on campus from 11:30-1:00pm. There will be a guest speaker and food for students.  For more information about Donate Life, please visit www.donatelifecalifornia.org
